Mark Folgner is the President and Owner of BLC Builders. Mark founded BLC to create a general contracting firm based on building relationships by providing added value and insight into projects, innovative construction practices, and a pleasurable experience for clients and employees alike.

From 2015 to 2021, Mark ran Dennis Banks Construction as the Director of Construction. Mark was responsible for all construction projects and activities for the company, lead estimator, business development manager, and project manager. Under Mark’s leadership, the company’s revenue grew nearly 3x to average over $20M/year from 2018-2020 with notable jobs including Boulder Bay, Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, Milestones Child Care, The Prep School Reno, Somersett Clubhouse, Schussboom Brewery, Ichiban at Eldorado and Purcell Tire.

Prior to DBC, Mark held a 10-year career with Devcon Construction. He began his career as a Project Engineer in 2005 and finished his career as a Senior Project Manager and Reno Branch Division Manager. During his career at Devcon, Mark was a leader in the Devcon Sports division with lead roles in the $50 Million Reno Aces Stadium and Freight House District and $853 Million San Francisco 49er’s Levi’s Stadium. Also, during his tenure, Mark performed TI and shell work for Fortune 500 companies throughout San Jose, San Francisco and Reno. Mark received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University where he also excelled on the baseball field as a four year Division 1 student athlete for the Broncos. After graduation he studied in Sydney Australia at UNSW in the schools of construction management and engineering.

Shareholder & Director of Operations – Kevin is responsible for the Accounting, Finance, Contract Review, and Investments. He manages daily and long-term accounting and the corporate banking functions and is active in the company’s business development.

Kevin also oversees BLC’s investment and development projects. Kevin has 10+ years in development and asset holdings totaling over 100 Million in property value. With his experience in development, Kevin carries the torch with project entitlements and contract negotiations for purchase agreements.

Prior to BLC Builders, Kevin earned a reputation as one of the top bankers in the Reno Tahoe area. His banking career started at Nevada Security Bank who was later acquired by Umpqua.

Kevin is an active member on the Board of Directors of the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club. He is also an active entrepreneur with investments in multiple companies in the Reno area including Brewers Cabinet, Reno Rebuild Project, Breadware and others.

Jacob excels in collaboration with management, field supervisors, and trades to meet or exceed the expectations of quality, timeline, design and budget. He is experienced in bid preparation and works with current industry technology such as BlueBeam, NiceTouch, Spectrum, ProCore, HeavyJob, HeavyBid, QSP, CESSWI, Primavera P6, and AGTEK.

Brandon Palmer is a Senior Project Manager with BLC Builders (BLC) with ten plus years of commercial and residential construction experience. He excels in collaborating with owners, architects, and construction staff to safely complete multimillion-dollar projects.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he graduated from Great Basin College (Elko) and the University of Nevada Reno with degrees in accounting and information systems. Brandon’s military, accounting, and technology background gives him a unique set of skills that aligns with the owner’s interest of getting projects done timely and on budget.

Prior to joining BLC, Brandon worked with Mark Folgner at Dennis Banks Construction as a project manager.

Brandon’s construction experience has been heavily rooted in design build projects including ground up (new construction) and facility renovation/ remodel (Tennant Improvements.) Brandon’s Pre Engineered Metal Building’s (PEMB) experience includes over 200,000 sq.ft. under roof of construction in commercial, industrial and mining settings; notably in the Tahoe Regional Industrial Center area and North Eastern Nevada mining operations. Brandon has completed 100+ unit Multifamily residential projects through concept, design, financing, and construction.

Brandon’s vast sub-contractor, supplier, and material provider contacts ensures he assembles the right team for all projects regardless of size.

Construction experience moves the project along, but Brandon’s dedication to safe working practices is always his highest priority.
