Andrew Applewhite is a Superintendent with BLC Builders in Reno, Nevada. He recently moved back to Reno after spending the last several years rebuilding Panama City, Florida from damages sustained after Hurricane Michael. Andrew’s training comes all from hands on, in the field training where he takes every opportunity to learn new skills and faces every challenge head on with great enthusiasm.
Prior to BLC, Andrew worked for Wall2Wall Restoration in Panama City. After a short time, the owner of the company took notice of Andrew and began acting as a mentor teaching lasting skills such as blueprint reading, layout and job management. Andrew’s eagerness to learn and dedication to delivering a quality product has gotten him to where he is today. Beginning as a laborer with a keen eye for detail and the ability to learn quickly, he has worked his way to up to superintendent.
With many tenant improvement jobs completed and even more new, ground up construction projects completed, he prides himself on building the biggest new grade school in Panama City Beach, FL., the Gary Walsh Academy. This two-story building, complete with separate auditorium/cafetorium, a fully custom kitchen and stage area is 265,000 sq ft with over 3 miles of framing and a deck height of 29ft! This amazing project presented many challenges that required the highest level of safety and problem-solving skills. This helped hone skills such as multi-level construction, organization, team building and leadership skills needed not only in a professional setting, but life skills as well.
Andrew lets his work speak for itself, with as many projects as possible completed on or before scheduled completion; with safety and client satisfaction being of upmost importance. As a result, he has landed many return contracts and built lasting client relationships.
