After an extensive career in the construction industry, Mark Folgner founded BLC to create a general contracting firm based on building relationships by providing added value and insight into projects, innovative construction practices, and a pleasurable experience for clients and employees alike.
From 2015 to 2021, Mark was the Director of Construction for Dennis Banks Construction, where he was responsible for all construction projects and activities for the company, lead estimator, business development manager, and project manager. Under Mark’s leadership, the company’s revenue grew nearly 3x to average over $20M/year from 2018-2020 with notable jobs including Boulder Bay, Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, Milestones Child Care, The Prep School Reno, Somersett Clubhouse, Schussboom Brewery, Ichiban at Eldorado and Purcell Tire.
Prior to DBC, Mark was with Devcon Construction for more than 10 years. He began his career as a Project Engineer in 2005 and finished as a Senior Project Manager and Reno Branch Division Manager. During his career at Devcon, Mark was a leader in the Devcon Sports division with lead roles in the $50 Million Reno Aces Stadium and Freight House District and $853 Million San Francisco 49er’s Levi’s Stadium. Also, during his tenure, Mark performed TI and shell work for Fortune 500 companies throughout San Jose, San Francisco and Reno.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Santa Clara University where he also excelled on the baseball field as a four-year Division 1 student athlete for the Broncos. After graduation he studied in Sydney Australia at UNSW in the schools of construction management and engineering.
For the past 5 years, Mark has volunteered his time coaching youth sports in baseball, basketball, soccer and flag football. Annually, he supports St. Baldricks Childhood Cancer Research Foundation, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and the Ricky Woodring Memorial Fund.
