Shalinn Prettyman is a Project Manager for BLC Builders in Reno, NV. She moved to Reno from Northern California when she enrolled at the University of Nevada. While studying at UNR she achieved her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering. During her time at UNR she studied abroad in Gold Coast, AUS and was part of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) organization and ASCE.
Prior to working at BLC, Shalinn worked for Lumos & Associates engineering firm in Carson City for a year doing civil engineering design. As an engineer she performed area drainage mapping surveys and primarily worked on land development projects. Through this experience, she broadened her knowledge on the design process and permitting through different municipalities.
In 2020, Shalinn decided to pursue construction project management in Reno. Shalinn has worked on many commercial projects, both new construction and tenant improvements (TIs). Shalinn has lead many design-build projects working closely with the designers and subcontractors. Some notable project in the Reno area she has worked on are: The Prep School Reno, SNACS, Ichiban at Eldorado and Cantina Norte.
She exemplifies great communication throughout the project by maintaining a dependable schedule and providing thorough cost analysis through the duration of her projects. Shalinn has great aptitude to take a design or vision and deliver a marketable product for her Owners. Shalinn has held great relationships with both the Owners of her project and subcontractors allowing for seamless integration of design.
