Project Profile: The Boomtown Casino was a ‘turnkey’ project, where BLC Builders worked alongside the owner and their design team to construct Reno’s newest ‘’locals only” casino in Verdi, NV. The 10,000 SF casino consisted of a pre-engineered building complete with a specialized metal deck flooring system called Cordeck that addressed the challenges and adaptations needed for the data and power management of the casino’s slot machines by allowing for an in-floor cellular raceway system. A 2,000 SF restaurant and full bar, along with patio seating and an indoor/outdoor fireplace with ample centralized parking on all sides of the building rounded out the construction of this casino and restaurant. The project also included the demolition and rebuild of an existing carwash. This new carwash utilized a special structural system called Octaform, which is a waterproof concrete system that is both environmentally friendly and offers a longer lifespan than traditional concrete construction.
